How We Clean Tiles and Grout
- Check the surface. We identify the tile type and the condition of the grout, and note any cracked or missing grout before we start.
- Sweep and prepare. Loose dirt is removed and nearby carpet and cabinetry is protected.
- Apply a cleaning solution. It sits on the floor long enough to loosen grease and built-up grime, and we work it into the grout lines.
- High-pressure rinse. Our equipment rinses the tiles and grout and removes the dirty water.
- Dry and check. We check the result with you. Keep foot traffic light until the floor is dry.
Caring for Tiles Between Cleans
- Sweep or vacuum before mopping, so grit doesn't end up in the grout.
- Change the mop water often. Dirty water is what darkens grout lines over time.
- Use a pH-neutral floor cleaner. Strong acids such as vinegar can etch natural stone like marble, limestone and travertine.
- Wipe up spills quickly, especially oil, wine and coffee, before they soak into the grout.
- Run the exhaust fan when you shower, which helps keep bathroom grout drier and cleaner.

Will the grout come back to its original colour?
Most grout comes up much lighter. Grout that has been stained deep down, or has worn away, may not return to its original colour, and we'll tell you what to expect when we look at it.
How long before I can walk on the floor?
You can walk on it carefully once the surface is dry, usually soon after we finish. Good airflow speeds it up.
Can you clean tiles in a business?
Yes. We clean tiled floors in shops, cafes, offices and amenities, and can book the work outside trading hours.
